Gettin' Pumped For Next Saturday
A great fundraiser is happening this Saturday night. I ran into my good friend and Ottawa Citizen reporter, Gary Dimmock last Thursday and he spoke of this "Pump Idol" competition that he's involved in. Last year, they raised over $8,000 in roughly 4 hours for the Regional Cancer Center. This year, they want to top the $10,000 mark. He's a judge, again, this year for the karaoke competition and he's asked me to join him as a judge. I've accepted. Now I just have to get the patter down. "Yo Dawg. You brought it!" "What's with the pitch, bitch?" "You own that song, dude!" There, I think I'm ready.
Canadian Idol's Jon Dore will host the event, which will also include a 50/50 raffle, door prizes and a silent auction to further the proceeds to the Regional Cancer Center.
The fun gets underway at 6pm and just $75 in pledges is required to enter. More information is available here.
